Claude SEO, with real search data
Claude gives good SEO advice, but on its own it guesses search volumes and rankings. SerpSidekick connects Claude to live SEO data: keyword volumes, Google results, competitors, backlinks, page audits and your own Search Console. It's a connector, so it works in the normal Claude app on the web and on desktop. You don't need Claude Code. Setup takes about two minutes. You get 500 free credits when you sign up, and Search Console is free. After that, $5 buys 5,000 credits.

Set it up
Claude is the first tab. Copy the URL, then follow the three steps.
- In Claude, open Settings → Connectors → Add.
- Name it SerpSidekick, paste the URL, and click Continue.
- Click Connect, sign in with Google, and approve. Start a new chat and ask an SEO question.
- In ChatGPT, open Plugins from the sidebar, then settings icon → MCPs → Add server.
- Choose Streamable HTTP, name it SerpSidekick, paste the URL, and save.
- Click Authenticate, sign in with Google, and approve. Start a new chat and ask an SEO question.
- Settings → MCP → Add new MCP server.
- Name it and paste the URL.
- Approve the sign-in in your browser. You should see 14 tools.
Config-file clients: add the URL as a remote server. No command, no API key.
Then ask Claude an SEO question, and mention SerpSidekick in it so Claude reaches for live data instead of guessing. For your own site's numbers, connect Search Console from your dashboard. That part is free.

A real answer
We asked about a baking blog. This is what the tool returned.
I write a sourdough baking blog for US readers. Which should I write first: sourdough discard recipes, sourdough starter recipe, or sourdough bread for beginners?
| Keyword | Searches / mo | Year on year | Difficulty |
|---|---|---|---|
| sourdough discard recipes | 110,000 | +22% | 3 |
| sourdough starter recipe | 110,000 | 0% | 4 |
| sourdough bread for beginners | 5,400 | 0% | 12 |

}The first two each get 110,000 searches a month and score 3 and 4 out of 100 for difficulty. Only “sourdough discard recipes” is growing, up 22% on last year, so that's the post to write first. A Google results check on it, to see who you'd be up against, costs 8 credits more.
Claude Code skills, or a connector?
Search for “claude seo” and most results are skills for Claude Code, the version of Claude that runs in a terminal. The top one installs from Claude Code's plugin marketplace or a shell script. Its free tier makes no outside data calls, and keyword volumes need a Google Ads developer token.
Source: AgriciDaniel/claude-seo on GitHub, checked on 2026-10-09.
If you work in a terminal, that's a good tool. If you use Claude in the browser or the desktop app, a connector gets you there faster: nothing to install, and the data comes with it.
What it can't do
- It can't tell you whether Claude mentions your brand. The AI visibility check covers ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews only, and says nothing about Claude, Perplexity or Gemini.
- Keyword data is national, one country at a time. For a local business, use it to pick terms, not to size your town.
- A page audit checks one URL per call. It doesn't crawl your whole site.
- Volumes and difficulty are DataForSEO's estimates, as they are in any SEO tool.
- A Google results check tells you a People Also Ask box is there, but not which questions it shows.
