A Google Search Console MCP you don't have to install
SerpSidekick is a hosted Google Search Console MCP server. Connect it once, and Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor can read your clicks, impressions and rankings for any page or search query. Reading Search Console is free. Setup takes about two minutes: paste one URL into your AI app, sign in with Google, then connect Search Console from your dashboard. You don't create a Google Cloud project or download a JSON file. You also get 500 free credits for keyword research. After that, $5 buys 5,000 credits.

Set it up
First, add SerpSidekick to your AI app. Pick your app and follow the three steps.
- In Claude, open Settings → Connectors → Add.
- Name it SerpSidekick, paste the URL, and click Continue.
- Click Connect, sign in with Google, and approve. Start a new chat and ask an SEO question.
- In ChatGPT, open Plugins from the sidebar, then settings icon → MCPs → Add server.
- Choose Streamable HTTP, name it SerpSidekick, paste the URL, and save.
- Click Authenticate, sign in with Google, and approve. Start a new chat and ask an SEO question.
- Settings → MCP → Add new MCP server.
- Name it and paste the URL.
- Approve the sign-in in your browser. You should see 14 tools.
Config-file clients: add the URL as a remote server. No command, no API key.
Then connect Search Console
Your AI app can now reach SerpSidekick, but it can't see your site yet. Open your dashboard and click Connect Search Console. Google asks for read-only access. Approve it with the Google account that can see your site in Search Console. It doesn't have to be the account you signed in with.
To check that it worked, ask your AI: “Which Search Console properties can you see?”
A real answer, from our own site
We asked about serpsidekick.com. It's a small, new site, so the numbers are small. The table shows what the tool returned, and the raw reply is underneath.

The raw reply
Search Console performance for sc-domain:serpsidekick.com, grouped by page.
Date range: 2026-09-09 to 2026-10-06 (28 days).
Dates are Pacific time (America/Los_Angeles), which is how Search Console buckets them — not the user's timezone.
Search Console data lags roughly 2–3 days, so the most recent days are unavailable rather than zero. Read via the connected account you@example.com (owner access).
Rows are sorted by clicks, as returned by Google.

Five of these URLs are pages we deleted in September, and Google is still showing them to searchers.
Why not a free server from GitHub?
Most results for this search are open-source servers that you run on your own computer. They're free and they work, if you're comfortable in a terminal. The top result on Google asks you to:
- install Python 3.11 and copy the code from GitHub;
- create a Google Cloud project and turn on the Search Console API;
- create an OAuth client and save its credentials.json file next to the code;
- edit Claude Desktop's config file by hand, then restart the app.

That connection lives in one app on one computer. SerpSidekick runs on our server, so you paste one URL into each app you use, and there's nothing to install or update.
What it can't do
- Access is read-only. Your AI can't submit a sitemap, request indexing or change a setting.
- The last two or three days are missing. Search Console needs that long to settle its numbers, so recent days show up as gaps, not zeros.
- One answer holds up to 100 rows. For more detail, ask about one page or one month.
- It sees only what your Google account sees in Search Console. Checking a URL's index status may also need owner access.
- It has no search volumes or competitor data, because Search Console only knows the searches you already appear for. Those come from the research tools, which use credits.
